Definition: This is the average number of units sold per day when the product was in stock.
Note: Out-of-stock days are not included. Also needs a date filter to determine what date range we are taking an average of.
Equation: Total amount sold / days in stock
Example: This metric is used in a lot of other calculations. In the graph below retailers see how total quantity on hand and In Stock Average Units per Day are helpful to see with one another and how they make up the estimated days remaining. If the In Stock Average Units per Day is high and the total quantity on hand isn't high enough, we might have a problem. This can be shown in beverages in the snip below. We would want to schedule a reorder of beverages ASAP.
