About this dashboard

What is it?

The Discount Utilization dashboard was crafted to enhance your understanding of discounting behaviors at the individual budtender level. You have the ability to refine this information by selecting specific Budtenders, Discount Groups, Discount Names, and time frames. This dashboard facilitates the identification of the total number of discounted transactions and the overall Discount Amount ($) attributed to each budtender.

Why would you want this?

Understanding this data empowers you to navigate sales coaching discussions with your budtenders and sales staff. Additionally, it aids in monitoring your adherence to the projected discounting budget. It can provide answers to questions such as:

  • Is a particular individual applying discounts more frequently than others?
  • Who is most frequently employing the "Student 10% off" discount?
  • Are we aligning with our projected discount targets for this week, month, year, and so forth?
  • Are there any discount activities that should raise concerns, such as those exceeding 100%?

Discounts by Employee

This visual representation offers a snapshot of the budtenders at Emerald Valley - Vancouver (Demo Account) during July 2023. The "Summarize By" filter has been configured to categorize discounts into specific buckets (e.g., 10-20%, 20-30%, etc.) and illustrates the percentage of transactions contributed by each budtender to the overall discounted transaction count within each bucket.

This particular visual highlights a few noteworthy outliers:

  • Brian W accounted for approximately 25% of all transactions with discounts ranging from 40-50%.
  • Cheech M was responsible for 40% of transactions with discounts ranging from 50-60%.
  • Snoop D was the sole individual applying discounts of 60-70% to transactions.

Discounting Transactions and % of Employee’s Total Transactions

This visual shares similarities with the bar graph presented above but in a different format. It provides a more transparent view of the total number of transactions discounted in each Discount Bucket by each budtender and shows how this contributes to the overall percentage of Total Transactions Discounted.

As observed earlier, Snoop D was the only budtender applying discounts in the 60-70% Bucket. Here, it becomes apparent that only one transaction received such a substantial discount. By clicking on the tile (indicated by the arrow), you can access the transaction date, allowing you to narrow down your investigation and understand the circumstances surrounding this discount.
