About this Dashboard

What is it?

This dashboard allows you to explore basket metrics based on the contents of the baskets. You can customize the date range, date granularity, product granularity, and apply filters to the selected categories above.

Use this dashboard to analyze which categories contribute to larger baskets (resulting in higher revenue) and which categories frequently appear in baskets.

Metric Definitions

  • Basket Size: This is the average dollar value of the total basket containing the selected products.
  • Basket Penetration: This represents the percentage of total store baskets that contain the selected products.

Using the Filters

The filters in this dashboard offer flexibility for slicing and dicing the data.

  • Market: This required filter allows you to choose the market you want to analyze.
  • Date Range: This filter lets you limit the time range for analysis (up to 15 months of historical data).
  • Date Granularity: This filter allows you to adjust the display of the date range on tiles with a date range dimension.
  • Category: This filter enables you to select either a single category or a combination of categories to refine the view of the tiles.

Basket Statistics

Starting with Top-Level Statistics

This tile displays the Total Basket Size and Basket Penetration for each category. Use this tile to gain insights into which categories drive larger basket sizes and how frequently products from each category appear in baskets.

Basket Penetration Over Time

Understanding Seasonal Shopping Trends

Basket Penetration indicates the percentage of total baskets that contain a specific product. Utilize this graph to better comprehend when people adjust their buying behaviors, showing a preference for certain categories at different times within the selected date range.

Basket Composition

This tile presents the total basket size for each product type. The light blue portion of the bar represents the total sales for that product type, while the dark blue represents the total sales for all other products in the basket.

For example, if an average Flower basket contained $30 worth of Flower, $2 of Accessories, and $5 of Edibles, the graph would display a bar for Flower with $30 in light blue and $7 in dark blue.

Use this visualization to assess the significance of each product type within the basket. It can help identify product types that are likely add-on purchases.
